Ceris Peroxide / Developer

This is a concentration of oxygen atoms in a gaseous state contained in a creamy solution. CERIS PEROXIDE oxidizing cream is “Stabilized” and its pH is in the acid range between 2.5 and 3.5.

Its formula is enriched with very fine waxes that protect the structure of the hair during the product’s chemical action, improving colour results and guaranteeing uniformity of colour and brilliance.

In any discussion of hair colour, it is important to talk about colour level and developer. Level refers to the lightness or darkness of a particular  hair colour. It's shown on a scale of one to ten with 1 being black and 10 being palest blonde. The hair colour formulas available also have a level on this same scale. This tells you how light or dark the finished colour will be.

Developer is the oxidizing agent that allows the hair colour to do its job. Most permanent hair colours today uses hydrogen peroxide as a developer. The peroxide opens the cuticle so that the colour can penetrate. It also disperses the existing colour and can lighten the hair's colour level depending on the strength of the peroxide formulation. The peroxide developer's oxidizing potential is denoted as its  'volume'.

Most hair colour formulas today work with a 10, 20, 30 or 40 volume developer, which means adding different quantities of oxygen atoms to the mixture.

To be used following the directions of the product with which it has to be mixed and wearing protective mono gloves. Keep out of the reach of children.

Colour Chart

The oxygen allows CERIS HAIR COLOURING CREAM to perform the following actions:

  • COLOURING ACTION – When the colourants come in contact with the oxygen they create colour.
  • LIGHTENING ACTION – The ammonium hydroxide (ammonia) in the product is a catalyst for the oxygenated water. Upon contact with the ammonia, CERIS PEROXIDE quickly releases its oxygen atoms, which acts on the natural melanin in the hair, lightening it.
